Other LCOG Missions

Loxley Church of Grace Mission Programs

Good Neighbor Fund  –Provides gas, motel stays, medication in special circumstances and sometimes helps pay utility bills. This ministry also provides Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to those in need. This is a ministry funded primarily by second mile giving.

Backpack Program – This is a nationwide program that operates locally. We collect and deliver items that children can take home from school in a backpack  such as mac-n-cheese, crackers, ready to eat or easy to prepare snack/meals for the underprivileged children.

Embrace Alabama Kids, formally U.M. Children’s Home – We collect funds year round for Embrace Alabama Kids with a large jug in the Sanctuary.  The collection year round is capped off with our White Christmas offering taken at one of our Christmas services, usually during our special program (play/cantata).

Lighthouse of Baldwin County – a home for battered women and victims of sexual assault is one of the missions we provide care to annually.  Some ways we have assisted in the past includes annual Christmas gifts and monetary donations, assisted with necessary construction projects at the safe home and their office in Robertsdale.  Through the Lighthouse program, our pastor has had the opportunity to speak to hundreds of teenage girl’s n the importance of abstinence and the dangers of “so-called” safe sex.

Heifer Project – The Heifer project is the ministry chosen for our VBS collections this year. This project is set up to assist third world countries better their lives as animals are donated to benefit the well being of the communbities. Chickens bring eggs and more chickens, cows/goats bring off spring and milk, sheep to procreate and provide wool…

Habitat for Humanity – is another mission project we support.  In Baldwin County we have been active participants in eight different homes.  Our latest build took place in the fall of 2012 in Daphne AL.

Life South Community Blood Center – we are a proud community partner with Life South.  We host four blood drives a year and these take place from 8am to 1pm on Sundays.

Christmas Gift Giving – is another outreach as we supply hundreds of presents for Loxley Elementary School that go to children who otherwise may not receive anything at Christmas.

Family Promise of Baldwin County – we are a co-sponsor in this program where we assist with food and volunteers at different churches and times of the year.  The Family Promise Program provides assistance in the form of housing, food, job placement & placement in their own residence, for “families” that are homeless.  The families stay one week at a time at various churches where they go through a program to get back on their feet while maintaining a sense of normalcy in their current living situation.  Transportation to and from school and work is provided as needed.  Writing resumes, filling out job applications and help with homework is all part of the ministry that takes place.

Assisting International Missions (AIM) – Lipscomb’s in Haiti – The Lipscomb’s are doing missionary work in Port-de-Paix, Haiti at the Hope Vision Orphanage. We are supporting this mission by having various fund raisers with our most successful fund raiser being a golf tournament coordinated by our Pastor.  In 2014 we sent our 1st Mission Team to help for 1 week.  And help they did!  We are now planning our 2nd Mission Trip sometime in February, 2015.

The San Pedro Missions/United Methodist Hispanic Ministries of Baldwin County – This is another way in which we reach out as this specialized ministry worships weekly in our facility on Sunday afternoons and selected days throughout the year. As part of this outreach we invite the Mexican Consulate annually to come in to our FAC and set up shop in an effort to help with documentation and any legal/notarization of paperwork that is needed.
